Jazzy jam sessions make for FABulous Fridays, and that's what we have on tap for the late summer / early fall season on Fulton Street! Once again, we've collaborated with nearby Brooklyn Music School for a multi-date outdoor music series in Fort Greene we're sure jazz lovers of all ages will enjoy.
Happy hour will swing with musicians from the neighborhood institution, who moonlight as faculty and department heads during the day! And if you can hang, bring your own instrument and jam along with them!
Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Rafael Rosa (link is external) (guitar, bass, piano, percussion) moved to New York City to pursue a graduate degree at age 25. Rafael has enjoyed extensive success as a performing musician including with Luba Mason’s Mixtura, several Off-Broadway musicals, the Afro-Peruvian group Karachacha and the Rafael Rosa Group. His critically acclaimed debut record “Portrait” was released in January, 2014. Bring a chair and a good mood to 7-Corners and jam with Rafael!
The BMS jazz music series is presented in partnership with Brooklyn Music School, a cultural district community institution since 1912. Learn more about their programs and classes on their website: www.brooklynmusicschool.org(link is external).
